It’s summertime and we have a fantastic recipe for the BBQ or the skillet – easy to make Indian-style Chicken patties!
We all know chicken is a healthy protein and ground chicken can be a great alternative to beef.
Summer is an especially great time to spend with friends & family on the patio, enjoying the sunshine. My family has a lot of flowers and ample seating on the patio for such occasions and when we’re grilling something as delicious as these patties, the neighbors start asking us what we’re making!
But buying a flavourful chicken patty (that isn’t processed with all kinds of things) can be tough, so here’s a recipe that easy, delicious and neighbourhood friendly!
Ingredients – makes 4 large patties
- 1lb (500grams) of ground chicken. We have fresh ground chicken available, and you can easily order online using our APP
- 1 tbspn. Minced garlic
- 1 tbspn chopped green chili
- 2 tbspn chicken tandoori Masala
- ½ tspn Garam Masala powder
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Cilantro – about a handful or to your liking
- 1 large egg
- ½ tspn. Black pepper
In a large bowl, add your ground chicken, onion, garlic, chili, tandoori masala, garam masala, cilantro, egg, pepper, salt and mix well.
Divide your mixture into 4 equal parts and shape into a thick round patty. Heat your griddle or the BBQ and grill until golden brown.
Garnish with lettuce, mayo, fresh tomato and maybe even some red onion and ketchup! These go great with any fresh green salad and a glass of wine is always a nice addition!
